Updating an identity in line with its game changing products




The brief
FilmLight had developed a game changing upgrade to their world leading digital film colour grading and finishing product. But their branding and marketing materials had not quite kept pace with their rapid advance in product design. So, our first job was to help focus the management team’s vision and agree a strategy before starting the creative process.
Our approach
There’s nothing like the deadline of a major new product launch at a leading trade show to inspire a bit of urgency. With the strategy agreed we worked quickly to create a refreshed look and feel, tone of voice and full marketing toolkit. The new identity features a flare device providing a signature, flexible branding element that lifted the existing ‘black only’ look. Contemporary type and photographic style create a clean, powerful brand. To bring the amazing features of their technology to life we recommended a video. A simple facelift of the website tied in the new branding. We also created a product microsite on a USB stick.
Outcomes
Within a month we had refreshed the brand identity, designed the website, brochure, exhibition stand and made launch videos for the new product. The launch was a great success and our relationship has developed as FilmLight has seen the benefits and value from our support.
