The National Society for Epilepsy (NSE) needed to create a range of fundraising and
community materials that would raise public awareness of the charity, shift attitudes
towards the disease and increase fundraising within a limited budget.
Milestone were approached through a member of staff who has a child who suffers from epilepsy.
The NSE believe that this made us more knowledgeable and empathetic than other agencies would be.
The brief was to produce a range of fundraising materials, an Annual Review and supporter newsletter
that had maximum impact for minimum cost.
Milestone created a range of fun, bright, eye-catching icons to be
used across the fundraising materials that would appeal to the public
and raise the NSE's profile whilst setting it apart from competitor charities.
The Annual Review needed to be a high quality, prestigious document suitable for
sending to the board of corporations for fundraising without looking as if hard-earned
funds were being wasted on marketing materials. Milestone made use of in-house photography
of real people; epilepsy sufferers, supporters and workers, a clever layout and uncoated
paper to achieve this result.
The new supporter newsletter "response" was created in a template format to enable the
NSE's Editor to produce future editions in-house thereby saving costs without sacrificing good design.
Milestone have now created a whole range of fundraising and community materials for the
NSE which stand out from competitors, appeal to the public and increase fundraising whilst
gradually developing into a stronger more effective brand for the charity.
